I have been getting a lot of questions on how I was able to score so many open seats next to me in my previous flights. Well the answer really is easy. First you have to research your airline and what their policies are on open middle seats. Many airlines have promised open middle seats during the pandemic but here you will find exactly who is keeping that promise and for how long.
- Alaska Airlines: Middle seats are blocked off and will remain this way until January 6, 2021.
- Allegiant Airlines: Are not blocking middle seats.
- American Airlines: Are not blocking middle seats.
- Delta Airlines: Middle Seats are blocked off and will remain this way until January 6, 2021.
- Frontier Airlines: Are not blocking middle seats.
- Hawaiian Airlines: Are currently blocking middle seats but will no longer do so after December 15, 2020.
- Jet Blue: No longer blocks middle seats. They are reducing the sales of each flight by 30% to give travelers room within the aircraft.
- Southwest Airlines: Is currently blocking middle seats but will discontinue this process on December 1, 2020.
- Spirit Airlines: Are not blocking middle seats.
- Sun Country Airlines: Are not blocking middle seats.
- United Airlines: Are not blocking middle seats.
No matter which airline you will choose to travel with to your next destination please note to plan responsibly. Face masks are currently required on all airlines unless you are under 2 years old. Studies do show that wearing a face mask significantly reduced the chances of catching the Coronavirus. Passengers who repeatedly refuse to wear a mask may be asked to leave the flight or be banned from the traveling airline.
